At Patrick Sutton, we begin our design process by developing the concept for the space, blending imagery, art, while reflecting on the intended use of each space. Rather than focusing solely on form, we consider the activity and interactions inhabitants will have with the interior and what feeling the design will evoke.
The design team works together to form the outline of our story for the space, pulling inspiration from travel, experience, art, and historical references.
Upon determining our concept imagery, the team begins to delve into the spatial design of the interior, forming space and selecting materials that reflect the narrative we’ve created. Our interest lies in utilizing authentic materials that set the scene, while maintaining a budget and incorporating details that heighten the senses.
In tandem with the developing the character of space, the team collaborates to source furniture + art that is unique and inspired. Once selected and approved by the client, our team works to generate detailed specifications and custom drawings, if needed.
Construction drawings and detailing are the written word to our visual narrative. The team at Patrick Sutton recognizes this importance and focuses on generating a well thought-out, extensive, and comprehensive set. While working internally to produce our drawings, we also coordinate with other disciplines to ensure that our design vision may be fully realized.
During the construction process, we work diligently and closely with the other disciplines and construction team to respond to any questions, fully coordinate and ensure that the design of the space is at the level of detail and quality that is expected.
Additionally, we work with procurement agents or our own internal procurement team to source and provide the highest quality of furnishings and art available, within budget and on time.
Once construction is completed, our team works to bring the vision to life with our expedient and detail-oriented installation team.
